HIKE-IN CAMPGROUND

JBERD Field Station offers 5 tent-pads (12’ x 12’) available for reservation. All of them are under a forest canopy. Cars are to be parked at the main parking lot by the Cabin Complex. Access to the campground is by foot (about ¼ mile away; see map below). Carts are available at the Ranger Station to transport equipment and materials.


Each tent site includes a picnic table and fire pit with a flip-up cooking grate. Onsite facilities, located ¼ mile from the campground, include a modern restroom facility with individual showers and outdoor sink/water, water bottle refill station, pavilion, and group fire ring. Use of pavilion and group fire ring spaces is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additional Information

For comfortable camping, occupants should bring sleeping bags and/or bed linens, toiletries, lantern/flashlight, cooking/eating utensils, appropriate clothing, and bug repellent. 


Dishes can be washed ONLY in the outdoor sink at the end of the restroom facility by the cabin area. No dish washing is allowed inside the restroom facility or in the forest. 


ALL food (including waste and scraps) must be disposed of properly (bagged and trashed) and not left in the forest for any reason.
