Winter Waterbird Survey

The Winter Waterbird Survey is a point count conducted during the nonbreeding season. It tracks the diversity and abundance of geese, swans, ducks, shorebirds, raptors, and other birds that frequent the wetlands of the Jug Bay area.

Staff and volunteer bird watchers visit four points bi-weekly between October and April. Experienced and beginning birders alike are welcome to join participants during the counts. (print-friendly description)
