Register for Paddling the Patuxent Student Leadership Program

The 2010 Paddling the Patuxent Leadership Program is an opportunity for teens to get to know one of the Chesapeake’s tributary rivers and to learn about how wetland and riverine ecosystems work, as well as environmental challenges to the estuary. Opportunities for environmental action on the students’ part will follow this program in the fall.

In order to recruit participants who are sincere in their desire to become environmental stewards and leaders, we are requiring that they answer a few questions on our Interview Form. To register for the 2010 Paddling the Patuxent Leadership Program, please follow these instructions:

 1. Each high school student interested in participating in the Paddling the Patuxent Leadership Program must complete the Interview Form.

 2. With your interview form, provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher or non-relative describing why you are a good candidate for this program.

 3. Send your materials to: Elaine Friebele, Education Coordinator, Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary, 1361 Wrighton Road, Lothian, MD20711. After interview forms are reviewed, qualified students will be accepted on a first come, first served basis until June 20, or until the course is full.
