The Sanctuary is open
Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays
9:00 am to 5:00 pm
(Closed Sundays from December through February)

The Glendening Nature Preserve is open for hiking daily from 9am-5pm (Closed Sundays Dec.-Feb.) Parking and trail maps are located at the Wrighton Road entrance. There is no entrance fee for the Preserve, and reservations are not required.

To protect the unique environment of Jug Bay, the Sanctuary is open to the public on a limited basis and by reservation only. Why are we not open every day?

Policies

All animals and plants are protected.
Hikers must stay on trails and boardwalks.
Picnic tables are available at the Wetland Center and at Farm Point (Sweet Flag Picnic Area).
Smoking is permitted only in the Parking Lot. No smoking on trails.
Hunting and fishing are not allowed.
There are no boat launching facilities. Click here to learn about boating on the Patuxent
