Habitat Survey

Tulip Tree (Liriodendron tulipifera) in Plot 530-Q The Habitat Survey began in 2003 as an effort to map the habitat trypes found throughout the Sanctuary. Understanding the diveristy and distribution of habitat types is will be seful in evaulating the distribution and abundance of plants and animals and is critical in habitat management. The Survey focuses on the terrestrial habitats since the wetland habitats were well described through prior studies.

In 2007, we are focusing on the Virginia Pine Forests of the Glendening Preserve.
