JBWS is one of several locations nationwide being studied to determine rates of sedimentation and sea-level rise. The Sedimentation-Erosion Table (SET) is a device for measuring the relative elevation of soft wetland sediments. Precise measures of the elevation of the sediment surface of wetlands are necessary to determine rates of elevation change, particularly relative to sea level rise, and to gain an understanding of the processes responsible for elevation change in wetlands: SET Study at Jug Bay
